DESCRIPTION
The northern part of Osaka is known as Umeda (梅田), is one of Osaka's two main city centers beside Namba. Umeda also offers abundance of shopping, dining, accomodation and entertainment. You can find lots of department stores, shops, electronic stores, restaurants, karaoke here.
Another famous attraction in Umeda is Umeda Sky Building. It is actually an office building, but you can visit the observatory area to view Osaka city from the sky. You need to walk around 20 minutes from Umeda station to reach the building.
Besides that, Umeda also offers large ferris wheel located in HEP (Hankyu Entertainment Park).
Access
Osaka / Umeda station complex is the busiest in western Japan.
From Shin-Osaka Station
4 minutes, 160 yen by frequently departing JR trains. Alternatively, the Midosuji Subway Line takes 6 minutes and costs 240 yen.
From Namba Station
8 minutes, 240 yen by Midosuji or Yotsubashi Subway Line.
