DESCRIPTION
Minoo Park (箕面公園) is a forested valley on the suburban area of Osaka. Minoo Park is the best place to enjoy autumn in Kansai region. You can see the mountain covered with reddish and yellowish color. The colors are usually the best in the second half of November.
Minoo Park can easily be reached from downtown Osaka. It takes only around 30 minutes from Umeda Area.
Like Takao Mountain of Tokyo Area, Minoo Park is also easy to hike. The hiking trail starts from Hankyu Minoo Station and leads to Minoo Waterfall. It takes hikers around 45 minutes to walk (one way). Along the hiking trail, you can see few temple buildings with Ryuanji Temple is the most impressive. The atmosphere here is like Kyoto which is peaceful. The flowing water in the river is also so clear. Minoo Waterfall is Minoo Park's main attraction. It has 33 meters in height.
Access
Minoo Park starts a short walk north of Hankyu Minoo Station.
From Umeda in central Osaka, take the Hankyu Takarazuka Line from Hankyu Umeda Station to Ishibashi Sation (15 minutes) and transfer to the Hankyu Minoo Line to Minoo Station (5 minutes). The entire one way trip takes about 25 minutes, costs 270 yen and is not covered by the Japan Rail Pass. There are frequent connections.
