DESCRIPTION

Shinsekai (新世界) means “The New World” in English. This area is one of Osaka’s most unique and nostalgic neighborhoods, famous for Tsutenkaku Tower, Kushikatsu, and Tennoji Zoo.

Tsutenkaku Tower was first constructed in 1912, inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The current tower stands 103 meters tall, with the main observatory located at 91 meters, offering panoramic views of Osaka.

Kushikatsu is one of Osaka’s most beloved local dishes — deep-fried skewers of meat, vegetables, and other ingredients. Shinsekai is known as the best place in Osaka to enjoy authentic kushikatsu, with numerous restaurants serving this crispy and flavorful dish.

Tennoji Zoo, opened in 1915, is Japan’s third-oldest zoo. It continues to be a popular destination for families and visitors who wish to enjoy nature, culture, and learning in the city.

After exploring Shinsekai and nearby attractions, you can unwind at Spa World, Osaka’s largest hot spring complex, featuring European- and Asian-themed bathing areas and numerous relaxation facilities.

Access

Shinsekai is a short walk from Shin-Imamiya Station on the JR Loop Line, Dobutsuen-mae Station on the Midosuji and Sakaisuji Subway Lines, and Ebisucho Station on the Sakaisuji Subway Line.
