Osaka Castle is Osaka’s most famous landmark. Originally built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, including during wars in 1615, 1665, and World War II.

Today, the castle stands within Osaka Castle Park, about a 15-minute walk from the park entrance. The park is famous for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) in spring. The main castle building houses a museum on Osaka’s history, and you can climb to the observatory for panoramic views of Osaka city.
