DESCRIPTION

Kinkakuji or golden pavilion is a zen temple located in northern area of Kyoto. The temple's top two floors are said to be completely covered in gold leaf.

The best view of Kinkakuji is from across the pond. However visitors can only see Kinkakuji. The main hall of the temple is closed for public. During the path to Kinkakuji, visitors will see lots of beautiful Japanese garden.

Access

Kinkakuji can be accessed from Kyoto Station by direct Kyoto City Bus number 101 or 205 in about 40 minutes and for 230 yen.
