DESCRIPTION
Harajuku (原宿) is located between Shinjuku and Shibuya and is the center of teenage culture and fashion in Tokyo. You can see many teenagers hanging out here, and occasionally young people dressed in cosplay walking around.
The most famous spot in Harajuku is Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street), lined with trendy shops, fashion boutiques, accessory stores, crepe stands, fast food outlets, and cafes. Takeshita Street is usually very crowded. You can also find Japan’s largest 100-yen shops here, where everything costs just ¥100.
Nearby is Omotesando, an area known for upscale brand shops, cafes, and restaurants.
You can also visit Meiji Jingu, located inside Yoyogi Park. The shrine grounds are mostly covered with a dense, beautiful forest, making it a peaceful escape from the busy city.
Recommended route when exploring the Shibuya–Harajuku area:
Shibuya -> Yoyogi Park -> Meiji Shrine -> Harajuku (Takeshita Street) -> Omotesando
