DESCRIPTION
Asakusa (浅草) offers the traditional atmosphere of old Japan. You can find many historic buildings and streets that preserve Tokyo’s ancient charm.
The main attraction in Asakusa is the street leading from Nakamise Shopping Street to Sensoji Temple (浅草寺), one of Tokyo’s most famous and oldest temples. Along Nakamise Street, there are many shops selling Japanese souvenirs such as samurai swords, kimono, yukata, geta (Japanese sandals), Japanese-style bags, and local snacks. You can also rent a yukata and stroll around Asakusa for a full traditional experience.
You can also enjoy a rickshaw ride in Asakusa. A 30-minute tour for two people costs around ¥9,000, offering a memorable way to explore the old streets.
After shopping in Nakamise, take a relaxing break at Sumida Park. From here, you can enjoy beautiful views of Tokyo Skytree and the famous Asahi Beer Tower.
