It is considered one of the best seasonal attractions near Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji, attracting photographers and visitors from around the world.

DESCRIPTION

The Fuji Shibazakura Festival (富士芝桜まつり) is one of Japan’s largest and most famous festivals for enjoying Shibazakura (Pink Moss Phlox). The festival is held annually at Fuji Motosuko Resort, located near Lake Motosu in the Fuji Five Lakes area, usually from mid-April until late May or early June, depending on weather and blooming conditions.

During the festival, approximately 500,000–800,000 shibazakura flowers bloom across wide fields, creating breathtaking carpets of pink, white, and purple flowers with Mount Fuji rising in the background. The contrast between the colorful flower fields and the snow-capped mountain creates one of the most famous Mount Fuji photo spots in Japan.

Visitors can also enjoy local food stalls, seasonal sweets, observation areas, and the nearby Peter Rabbit English Garden, which adds more attractions for families and visitors. Because of its popularity, the festival can become extremely crowded during weekends and Golden Week holidays, so weekday visits are generally recommended.
