New Kintetsu 6A Series Trains Begin Service Toward Yoshino

Kintetsu introduced its new 6A Series trains on May 19, 2026, for the Minami Osaka, Yoshino, Nagano and Gose lines. Features include flexible seating, luggage space and an accessible multipurpose toilet.

Kintetsu Railway introduced the new 6A Series on May 19, 2026, serving routes in southern Osaka and the Yoshino area.

The trains operate on the Minami Osaka, Yoshino, Nagano and Gose lines. They are the first newly designed general commuter trains introduced to the Minami Osaka network in approximately 24 years.

Seats can be changed between longitudinal and forward-facing arrangements. Dedicated spaces are provided for wheelchairs, baby strollers and large luggage, making the trains more convenient for families and visitors carrying suitcases.

The trains also include passenger-operated door buttons and an accessible multipurpose toilet. The toilet is an important addition for longer journeys toward destinations such as Yoshino.

Not every service uses the new train. Visitors should check current timetables and train information before departure. A separate paid reserved-seat service using 6A Series trains was also scheduled to begin on parts of the Minami Osaka and Yoshino lines from June 1.
