Shuri Castle’s Restored Main Hall Opens November 23

Shuri Castle’s restored Seiden main hall opens to the public on November 23, 2026, following reconstruction after the 2019 fire. Visitors need a timed advance reservation to enter the hall, and admission prices change on opening day.

The restored Seiden, the main hall of Shuri Castle in Naha, Okinawa, is scheduled to open to the public on November 23, 2026. The hall was destroyed in the 2019 fire, and its reconstruction has become a major cultural and tourism milestone for Okinawa.

Visitors who want to enter the Seiden must reserve an admission ticket with a designated date and time in advance. The reservation itself has no extra time-slot fee. Visitors who do not reserve the interior viewing can still visit the paid area and see the exterior and reconstruction exhibits, subject to availability and crowd controls.

Adult admission to the paid area will be ¥1,000 from November 23. The park expects congestion around the opening and recommends public transportation because nearby roads may be busy. The park estimates that the full visit, including the walk from Shuri Station and interior viewing, can take about 90 to 120 minutes.

Check the official ticket page before visiting for reservation availability, current prices, opening hours and any temporary entry limits. The park may restrict admission for safety if visitor numbers are high.
