Kintetsu Launches Reserved-Seat Service Toward Yoshino

Kintetsu began a paid reserved-seat service on parts of the Minami Osaka and Yoshino lines on June 1, 2026. The service uses new 6A Series trains and offers visitors a more predictable seat for selected journeys.

Kintetsu Railway introduced a paid reserved-seat service on selected Minami Osaka and Yoshino Line trains on June 1, 2026.

The service uses the new 6A Series trains and is intended to provide a guaranteed seat on selected departures. It can be useful during weekends, holidays, cherry blossom periods and other busy travel dates toward southern Nara.

The reserved-seat charge is separate from the normal railway fare. Travellers must therefore hold both a valid basic ticket or IC-card fare and the required seat ticket.

Only selected trains and sections offer reservations. Other services on the same lines continue to operate as ordinary non-reserved trains, and not every 6A Series train necessarily provides reserved seating.

Visitors travelling to Yoshino should check the current timetable, operating dates, seat availability and purchase method on Kintetsu's official website or at a station before boarding.
